Dear NAHN Phoenix Chapter Members,
The 2018-2020 NAHN Phoenix Chapter election term is soon approaching and the Nominations committee is looking for you to be a part of this ever growing, leadership driven team to uphold the ongoing success, mission and vision of NAHN and the NAHN Phoenix Chapter.
-Submission of letter of intent with the stated position of interest.
-Submission of a short biography (the biography will be used in an upcoming newsletter that will be distributed to all current chapter members prior to elections and posted to the Phoenix chapter website to help get to know you better).
Please include a current headshot formatted to .jpg version.
All nominees must be in good standing with the association and a current General voting member.
The President-Elect position includes a BSN educational degree requirement.

Below are a brief description of the upcoming vacancy positions for the 2018-2020 term.

The President-Elect shall take over the office of the President upon the expiration of the prior President’s term of office. The President-Elect shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President and the Board.
The Membership chair is responsible for recruiting volunteers to serve on the Membership Committee. Meetings will take place quarterly or on an as-needed basis, to be determined by the Chair. The Chair will be responsible for submitting a bi-annual report to the NAHN Phoenix Board of Directors. The Membership Chair is responsible for the recruitment and retention of the NAHN Phx Chapter membership base. All recruitment events are to be coordinated by the chair. ***The new Membership Chair will be given up to 12 months of mentorship and assistance from the current Membership Chair, Rose Lopez.
The Recording Secretary shall keep the meeting minutes of all the meetings for Members and the Executive Board; shall distribute the minutes to the members of the Executive Board and Members, and provide the member meeting minutes at the follow-up Member and Executive Board meetings. The Recording Secretary shall keep attendance rosters of the member meetings and update the membership roster as appropriate, in conjunction with the Membership Chair. The Recording Secretary is responsible for certifying all financial documents and business documents in accordance with chapter policy. The Secretary, within thirty (30) days upon completion of the term of office, shall deliver to the new secretary all minutes, the latest member rosters and other pertinent paperwork accumulated during the secretary’s term of office. ***The new Recording Secretary will be given up to 12 months of mentorship and assistance from the current Recording Secretary, Glorimar Castro.
The Community Outreach Chair is responsible for recruiting volunteers to serve on the Community Outreach Committee with assistance and recommendations from the Executive Board. The Chair is also responsible for coordinating and facilitating committee meetings that occur quarterly or on as-needed basis to be determined by the Chair. All health fair and other related community outreach events are to be coordinated by the Chair, and the committee will assist in disseminating all pertinent information to the membership base, regarding health fairs and ongoing volunteer activities via the Volunteer Spot website, as well as provide event sign-up sheets at monthly Membership meetings, and email communications. ***The new Community Outreach Chair will be given up to 12 months of mentorship and assistance from the current Community Outreach Chair, Sue Ellen Valle.
Scholarships & Awards:
The Scholarships & Awards Chair is responsible for the scholarship application process, from review of scholarship application and criteria, soliciting recommendations for and drafting changes and/or updates, the scholarship application and recipient selection process with assistance and recommendations from the NAHN Phoenix Executive Board and committee members. The Chair is also responsible for coordinating and facilitating committee meetings on an as-needed basis to be determined by the committee as well as provide student sign-up sheets at monthly membership meetings. ***The new Scholarships & Awards Chair will be given up to 12 months of mentorship and assistance from the [as yet TBD Board member].
Phoenix NAHN members, one other Board position is vacant and may be filled immediately (no need to wait for the upcoming election term). The vacant position is the Awards & Scholarships Chair.
